# FAQ **URL:** https://www.gavau.lt/en/pages/duk --- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What are peptides? Peptides are short chains of amino acids that play an important role in regulating cell functions. Peptide bioregulators are natural peptides obtained from animal tissues that help maintain the normal function of specific organs and tissues. They are intended to help maintain the ordinary processes of cell renewal. How to take peptides? Peptide bioregulators are usually taken in capsule form. The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules a day, taken before a meal with water. The standard course lasts 30 days. The exact dosage schedule is always given on the product package, or you can consult us. It is recommended to repeat the course 2-3 times a year. Do peptides have side effects? Peptide bioregulators are food supplements and, when taken within the recommended daily dose, are usually well tolerated. As with any food supplement, we recommend consulting your doctor if you have chronic conditions, are pregnant or are breastfeeding. How long does delivery take? We dispatch orders the same or the next working day; peptide bioregulators within 3 working days. Delivery in Lithuania takes 1–2 working days with LP Express. For other European Union countries you can choose DHL Express (2–4 working days) or standard shipping (2–10 working days). Times are counted from dispatch, not from when the order is placed. Can products be returned? Yes, we apply a 30-day return policy under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. Products must be returned in undamaged original packaging. To start a return, contact us by email at uabgavau@gmail.com. The money will be refunded within 14 days of receiving the product. Are the products certified? The food supplements sold here are notified to the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT) and comply with European Union food supplement law — Directive 2002/46/EC and Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006. Manufacturers declare GMP-certified production and batch quality control; conformity documents are provided on request. Notification is a registration procedure — it is not a confirmation of safety or efficacy. More: Quality and laboratory testing and what may and may not be claimed. How to choose the right peptide? Every peptide bioregulator has a manufacturer-stated tissue or organ system from which the peptides are isolated. For example, Chelohart – heart muscle peptides, Cerluten – brain and central nervous system peptides, Visoluten – eye tissue peptides. A comparison of all 62 active products is given on the page how to choose a peptide bioregulator. We recommend: 1. Reading the product descriptions on our website 2. Contacting us for a consultation – we will help you choose the most suitable option 3. Consulting your own doctor about your individual needs Can several peptides be combined? Yes, peptides can be combined and combining them is even recommended. Peptides are intended to support the function of different organs and tissues, so they can be used together. Popular combinations include heart + blood vessel peptides or brain + nervous system peptides. You can consult us about the best combination. How do peptide bioregulators differ from injectable research peptides? They are two separate market categories. Peptide bioregulators are oral or sublingual food supplements, notified to the Lithuanian VMVT and sold under EU food supplement law. Injectable research peptides — BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, GHK-Cu, Retatrutide, Tirzepatide, MOTS-c, Semax, Selank — are usually distributed as research chemicals with no food supplement status. GAVAU.LT does not sell them and does not source them. What is the difference between cytomaxes and cytogens? Cytomaxes are made from animal-origin tissue: the peptide fraction is separated by a multi-stage extraction, which yields a natural complex of several peptides. Cytogens are synthesised from amino acids — only the shortest, most active peptide sequence is reproduced, so the molecule is truncated and precisely defined. The practical difference for a buyer: cytogens suit vegans because the raw material is not of animal origin, while a cytomax always names its source tissue. The exact composition is on each product label. What is the sublingual (lingual) line? These are the same cytomaxes and cytogens in liquid form: a 10 ml bottle with a dropper. The drops are placed under the tongue and held there until absorbed. The manufacturer states that the sublingual form is taken up through the oral mucosa, bypassing the digestive tract, and that the daily dose of a sublingual monopeptide is half that of the same class in capsules. No water is needed, which makes the form convenient when travelling. There are 28 sublingual products in the catalogue. What do the codes AC-2, AC-6, AA-7 in the ingredients mean? They are the manufacturer's codes for peptide complexes. The letters give the class (AC — synthesised peptide complexes, AA — complexes isolated from tissue) and the number identifies the specific complex and its source tissue. For example AC-4 is a cartilage-tissue peptide complex, AC-6 a thymus complex, AC-2 a vascular-wall complex. On the label the code is always given together with the amino acid list and the amount in milligrams, so two products carrying the same code are comparable. Who develops and manufactures these peptide bioregulators? The category was, founded in 1992 by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson (1946–2024). The Peptides® brand has operated since 2010 and works with the institute as a strategic partner. The manufacturer declares GMP- and ISO-certified production. GAVAU.LT receives the peptide bioregulators directly from the manufacturer, with no intermediaries. Are peptide bioregulators medicines? No. In the European Union they are sold as food supplements and are outside the medicinal product authorisation regime. Under Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 no authorised health claim exists for peptide bioregulators, which is why GAVAU.LT makes none. A food supplement is not a substitute for medicine and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. In what forms are NPCRIZ peptide bioregulators sold? Two. Capsules — 36 products, in packs of 20, 30, 60 or 90 capsules. Sublingual drops — 28 products, a 10 ml bottle with a dropper. The catalogue holds 64 active NPCRIZ peptide bioregulators in total. No other form (powder, injection, tablet) exists in this line. Are sublingual tablets still available? No. The manufacturer no longer produces sublingual tablets — the whole sublingual line has been replaced by 10 ml dropper bottles. If you see an NPCRIZ product described anywhere as a sublingual tablet, that information is out of date. GAVAU.LT does not carry that form. How are the capsules taken? The capsule is swallowed whole with water. The daily dose and the timing are printed on the pack and should be followed, because the dose differs from product to product. There is no need to open or dissolve the capsule. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. How are the sublingual drops taken? The manufacturer's instruction for adults is 5–6 drops under the tongue 3–4 times a day, 10–15 minutes before a meal. The drops are held under the tongue until absorbed; no water is needed. The dropper lets you measure an exact number of drops. The exact dose for a given product is always stated on the pack. Before a meal or with a meal? The pack and the official instruction for capsules say “with meals” — that is what food supplement labelling requires, so the label comes first. The manufacturer's methodological guidance adds that taking them before a meal is more convenient. For sublingual drops the manufacturer states 10–15 minutes before a meal. If the label and the general guidance differ, follow the label. How long is a course and when can it be repeated? The manufacturer's standard course is 1 month. A repeat course is recommended after 3–6 months; in practice courses are usually taken 2–3 times a year. For some complexes the manufacturer states a longer 1–3 month course. The exact duration is always given in the product description and on the pack. Can several products, or capsules and drops, be combined? The manufacturer presents bioregulators of different directions as combinable, and the sublingual form as usable on its own or alongside other forms. The daily dose of each product is counted separately and must not be exceeded. When combining several food supplements, and particularly when taking medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist. What should I do if I miss a dose? Carry on with the normal schedule from the next planned time. There is no need to make up a missed dose by doubling the next one — the recommended daily dose must not be exceeded. A single missed dose does not invalidate the course. How should peptide bioregulators be stored? The manufacturer states a dry, dark place at +2…+25 °C. Refrigeration is not required, but direct sunlight and damp are worth avoiding. Keep the sublingual bottle tightly closed and upright. Keep out of the reach of children. The exact conditions are always printed on the pack. Are the products suitable for vegans? It depends on the class. Cytogens and sublingual cytogens are: their active part is laboratory-synthesised peptides and the raw material is not of animal origin. Cytomaxes are not, because their peptides are extracted from animal-origin tissue. The capsule shell composition is on the label — if this matters to you, check it before ordering or write to us. Who should not take these supplements? The manufacturer states that the products are not suitable in case of individual intolerance to the components, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. They are not intended for anyone under 18. If you take medication or have a long-term health condition, consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting. Can they be taken together with medication? GAVAU.LT cannot assess an interaction with a specific medicine — only your doctor or pharmacist can, because they see your full list of preparations. So if you take any medication, consult them before starting a food supplement. Show the specialist the product label with the full composition; we can email a copy of it on request. Are they suitable for children? No. These food supplements are for adults — the manufacturer gives dosing guidance for adults only, and the products are not intended for anyone under 18. Keep them out of the reach of children. Are the products suitable for athletes subject to doping control? GAVAU.LT cannot confirm the status of any product under anti-doping rules and holds no sports-body certification. If you are subject to doping control, submit the full label composition to your federation or anti-doping authority before taking any food supplement, and follow their answer. Where can I find the full composition and allergen information? The full composition is on each product page under “Ingredients” and on the pack. It gives the peptide complex code, the amino acids, the amount in milligrams and the excipients. If you are looking for a specific allergen and the label does not answer it, write to uabgavau@gmail.com and we will send the manufacturer's composition declaration. Is GAVAU.LT an official distributor? Yes. GAVAU.LT is the official authorised distributor of NPCRIZ peptide bioregulators in Lithuania and the Baltic states; goods come directly from the manufacturer with no intermediaries. FOHOW products are supplied through the official importer UAB Xinshidai. The supply chain is described on the “Quality and laboratory testing” page. How can I be sure the product is genuine? Every pack carries the manufacturer's batch number and expiry date. On request we provide the manufacturer's documents — the GMP certificate and the batch declaration of conformity. Because we take goods directly from the manufacturer, there are no resellers in the supply chain. If the labelling on a pack you received looks wrong, send a photo to uabgavau@gmail.com. What quality testing is done? The manufacturer declares GMP-certified production and in-house quality control of every batch: HPLC analysis, microbiological testing and heavy-metal screening. Chromatographs and mass spectrometers in the manufacturer's laboratories are used to determine peptide content. The FOHOW manufacturer additionally holds ISO 22000 and HACCP systems. This is control of manufacturing and composition, not an assessment of effect. What does VMVT notification mean? Before a food supplement may be sold in Lithuania it is registered with the State Food and Veterinary Service: composition, labelling and manufacturer details are filed. This is a registration procedure — it confirms the product has been declared and meets labelling requirements, but it is not a confirmation of safety or efficacy and it grants no right to make health claims. Will I get a batch COA or HPLC certificate with my order? Not automatically. Batch COAs are the practice of the injectable research peptide market, a category GAVAU.LT does not sell in. For food supplements the manufacturer issues declarations of conformity and a composition analysis under the EU supplements directive. On request we can send the GMP certificate and the declaration of conformity for a specific batch. What is the shelf life and how do I check it? The best-before date and the batch number are printed on every pack. We ship only stock that is within date. If the date on the pack you receive is too close for you, you may return the item under the normal 30-day right, or write to us and we will exchange it. Which countries do you ship to? We deliver to Lithuania and every European Union country. Inside Lithuania parcels go with LP Express; for other EU countries there are two options, DHL Express or standard shipping. Trade is in euros, and there are no customs or import duties inside the EU. How do I track my parcel? A tracking number is emailed once the order is confirmed. With it the parcel can be followed on the LP Express or DHL Express website, depending on which carrier is handling it. If the email did not arrive, check your spam folder and write to us. What payment methods are available? We accept bank card, bank transfer and PayPal. All prices are in euros. The delivery charge is shown in the basket before payment; there are no hidden fees. Payment is in euros. How many products are in the catalogue? There are currently 99 active products. 64 of them are NPCRIZ peptide bioregulators (36 in capsules and 28 as sublingual drops); the rest are FOHOW traditional Chinese medicine supplements, Foherb herbal supplements, the Prime Peptide® line and detox foot patches. The figures are refreshed from the live catalogue. How do I choose the right product? Three criteria help: where the peptides come from (a tissue-derived cytomax or a laboratory-synthesised cytogen), the form (capsules or sublingual drops) and the source tissue stated by the manufacturer. A comparison table of every active NPCRIZ product is on the “How to choose a peptide bioregulator” page. You can also write to us or use the product helper on the site. What is FOHOW? FOHOW (Fohow Health Products Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese manufacturer making food supplements to traditional Chinese medicine formulations. GAVAU.LT sells original FOHOW supplements and is the first and longest-running FOHOW shop in Lithuania. What is Foherb, and how does it differ from FOHOW? Foherb is a line from the same FOHOW group. It leans more on plant and nutritional components: spirulina tablets, collagen with cordyceps, soy peptide and protein powders, herbal pastes. The FOHOW line stays closer to classic traditional Chinese formulations — cordyceps, linchzhi, Meigui fruit paste. Are the FOHOW products sold on GAVAU.LT genuine? Yes. Every supplement sold here is notified to the State Food and Veterinary Service of Lithuania (VMVT) and complies with European Union food supplement law. The list of notified FOHOW supplements can be checked in the VMVT register. Where can I buy FOHOW products in Lithuania? From the GAVAU.LT online shop. We dispatch orders the same or the next working day, and delivery within Lithuania takes 1–2 working days with LP Express. What is cordyceps?
